Trevor's Bike Ride Fundraising Success
Trevor is delighted with his 8th Annual Bike Ride raising money for Velindre which took place on Saturday the 5th of September. A report roundup of the event from Trevor:-
The weather was great this year and timing of the event was perfect, had it been the following week the bike ride would not have happened as Caerphilly was in lockdown! I believe most of the donations and sponsorship monies are now in so I am pleased to report that we raised a massive £2,681.88 (inc gift aid) this year which is fantastic, thank you all so very much on behalf of Velindre Fundraising!
Finally, my thanks to Shane Williams for his support of the event and Velindre, not forgetting the ‘celebrity factor’, Caerphilly Council and the Tourist Information Centre (Martin Cook, Sophie Ball and their staff) for providing morning refreshments, Twyn School and its headmistress, Elizabeth Williams for allowing us free use of their car park, Debbie at Morrisons in Caerphilly for supplies, Richard Jasper of Castle View Subway in Caerphilly for his very generous ‘over supply’ of subs and drinks on our return to Brinsons Office. Also special thanks to the band of marshalling volunteers on the day; Carolyn Jones, Tim Jones, Andy King, Matthew Thorne and family and not forgetting Audrey Clemenger of Brinsons for her administrative skills in generally pulling everything together – and cleaning up the office afterwards!
Thanks to all, COVID allowing the 9th annual bike ride will be in June 2021, I will ensure that I provide everyone with at least 8 weeks’ notice next time, promise!
